Job summary

Museum of Illusions in Detroit is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead 7–10 floor staff, oversee guest experiences, and ensure exhibits operate smoothly. This full-time role requires weekend and night availability and strong supervisory and customer service skills.

You will mediate conflicts, respond to guest inquiries, and support opening/closing duties while upholding museum rules and maintenance tasks. Arts/hospitality experience is a plus; join a growing team delivering memorable experiences.

Qualifications

• 2+ years supervisory experience.
• 2+ years in a customer facing role.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in arts, entertainment, performance or hospitality is a plus.
• Go-getter attitude, proactive, accountable and trustworthy.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Required nights and weekends availability.
• Flexibility to open and close shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead 7–10 floor staff, assign positions, and ensure proper coverage for guest experience.
• Monitor staff and guest satisfaction by being present on the museum floor.
• Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees or guests.
• Provide first-contact customer service for visitors, refunds and discounts.
• Escalate guest concerns and ensure museum rules are followed.
• Handle opening/closing duties and daily checklists.
• Assist with maintenance tasks and basic upkeep.
• Operate in rotations for Operations Admin, Retail or Guest Services duties.
