Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and helps resolve questions in a polite, professional manner.
• Follows store policies relating to checkout to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Operates front-end scanning equipment and cash register.
• Bags merchandise efficiently and places items in the customer’s cart.
• Maintains transaction accuracy, charging for all items and handling payments.
• Keeps cash drawer secure and avoids overages/shortages.
• Adheres to store guidelines for sale of tobacco and alcohol.
• Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, promotions and store layout to answer questions.
• Ensures department sanitation and compliance with health and OSHA requirements.
• Disposes of trash properly and cooperates with coworkers to keep store running smoothly.
