Job summary

Weis Markets in Bellefonte, PA seeks a part-time Front End Associate to greet customers, operate checkouts, and provide courteous service. You will handle transactions, monitor cash control, and support cashier teams while keeping shelves and front-end areas clean, safe, and well organized.

Responsibility includes following policies on tobacco/alcohol sales, assisting customers with questions, and maintaining awareness of weekly promotions. Prior retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in customer-facing roles is advantageous
• Ability to handle cash and operate a register accurately

Responsibilities

• Directs the flow of customers through the Front End to minimize wait times and ensure smooth service
• Greets customers, answers questions, resolves concerns politely and professionally
• Enforces security and cash control procedures; assists cashiers with transactions and audits
• Monitors cashier and attendant performance; participates in training to ensure productivity and accuracy
• Operates front-end scanning equipment and register; bags merchandise efficiently
• Answers phone calls with a positive attitude and uses intercom announcements as needed
• Maintains transaction accuracy and proper cash handling, including checks, electronic payments and coupons
• Follows security measures and cash drawer procedures; complies with tobacco and alcohol sale guidelines
• Keeps knowledge of weekly ads and promotions to assist customers
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the department following schedules and OSHA requirements
• Cooperates with coworkers and superiors to ensure smooth store operations
• Uses provided PPE according to company guidelines
