Job summary

Starbird Chicken is seeking a Guest Ambassador to create a warm, welcoming guest experience from entry to departure. You will engage guests, explain menu items, upsell, and maintain dining room cleanliness while supporting front-of-house flow.

This is a tipped, hourly role in California with base pay plus tips; a Food Handler's Card is required within 30 days of hire. Passion for hospitality and teamwork is essential for growth into leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 16 years or older.
• Strong verbal communication skills in English; ability to listen actively and respond clearly.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality; ability to adhere to a consistent schedule.
• Availability for morning and evening shifts; weekend availability is required.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Food Handler's Card: Required by California law within 30 days of hire (Starbird covers cost).

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm, energetic welcome.
• Answer menu questions and make tailored recommendations.
• Upsell menu items, specials, beverages, or upgrades.
• Deliver food to tables accurately and promptly; confirm order correctness.
• Maintain a clean, organized dining room; sanitize tables and restrooms.
• Assist guests at the register; follow cash-handling procedures.
• Support team members across back-of-house functions during peak periods.
• Participate in opening and closing duties and daily cleaning checks.
