Job summary

My Neighbor Felix is seeking a Server to be the primary ambassador of the guest experience. You will deliver warm, attentive service from welcome to farewell, guide dining decisions, and coordinate with the team to ensure accurate timing, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have serving experience in a fast-paced, full-service setting with strong knowledge of food and drink programs. This role offers an hourly wage with tips, a non-exempt tipped classification, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcohol and maintain any required certifications.
• Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant; upscale or cocktail-focused experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tables, coursed dining, guest payments, and service recovery in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests promptly and professionally, tailoring service to the occasion and guest preferences.
• Guide guests through the menu with knowledge of ingredients, prep methods, spice levels, drinks, and desserts.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, clarify modifications, and enter orders into the POS system.
• Identify allergies and special requests; communicate them clearly and follow safety procedures.
• Use suggestive selling and build dining experiences with thoughtful recommendations and pairings.
• Maintain awareness of each table, anticipate needs, refill beverages, and coordinate pacing without delays.
• Communicate with hosts, bartenders, runners, and managers to ensure accurate pacing and handoffs.
• Present and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and beverages per standards; seek manager support when needed.
• Verify quality, temperature, and accuracy of items before service; involve a manager if concerns arise.
• Manage guest checks, payments, discounts, and cash, following company procedures.
