Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a customer-focused server for our Lake Charles location. You will welcome guests, describe daily specials, assist with menu and beverage selections, and ensure guest satisfaction through attentive service and quality checks.

The role emphasizes friendly interactions, accurate product knowledge, and adherence to sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Familiarity with food, beverage, and wine service.
Knowledge of table service procedures and table etiquette.
Excellent customer service skills.
Stable work history.
Typically two years’ food serving experience in a full-service restaurant.

Responsibilities

Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with external and internal customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult customers in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
Recognizes guest immediately with a friendly, courteous greeting and informs them of daily specials, soup of the day, etc. Also acts as a “walking information center”.
Assists guests with menu and beverage selection, demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge.
Notifies supervisor, manager, or line chef of any food products that are not properly prepared.
Ensures guest satisfaction through food quality checks and responsiveness to guest complaints.
Maintains a well-groomed, neat, and clean appearance, carrying out duties with attention to sanitation and safety.
Anticipates, identifies, and provides for guest needs.
Performs inventories and other duties as assigned.
Performs tableside cooking, salad entrées, desserts and presents, opens and pours wines
