Job summary

The Stanford is seeking a Host/Hostess to create a positive first impression by welcoming guests, managing reservations and seating, and maintaining an organized front‑of‑house area. This role sets the tone for a great dining experience.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, coordinating seating, answering calls, and assisting with inquiries and takeout orders. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally as they arrive.
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements to ensure efficient service flow.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
• Maintain a clean and organized front‑of‑house area, including the host stand and entrance.
• Monitor dining room flow and coordinate with servers to ensure balanced seating.
• Answer the phone and assist with inquiries, takeout orders, and reservations.
• Assist with guest needs and address any concerns promptly and courteously.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Other duties as assigned
