Job summary

Hypsi in Houston Heights is seeking a friendly Greeter to join the team and help create a warm, welcoming dining experience for every guest. The Restaurant Host / Greeter greets guests, manages reservations, and supports smooth front-of-house operations with the service team.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, calm under pressure, and a genuine passion for hospitality. AM availability preferred, with flexibility for evenings and weekends in a vibrant, Italian-inspired concept.

Qualifications

• Previous host, greeter, or front of house experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to remain organized and professional during busy service periods.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods.
• Full morning availability for an AM schedule, with preferred flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
• Manage reservations, walk ins, waitlists, and table assignments.
• Communicate seating needs and guest preferences to service and management teams.
• Maintain an organized and inviting host stand and entry area.
• Monitor dining room flow to ensure efficient seating and positive guest experience.
• Answer guest questions and provide accurate information about the menu and restaurant.
• Assist with guest concerns and elevate issues to management as needed.
• Support overall front of house operations and assist team members when appropriate.
