Job summary

Uchiko Austin is seeking a Host to support service by managing reservations and walk-ins, setting guest expectations, and creating memorable guest experiences. You will learn the menu and beverage offerings to assist guests waiting for their table.

Hosts earn an average of $22 per hour (base pay plus tips) with medical/dental/vision options, an employee assistance program, 401k savings plan, and dining discounts; growth opportunities are emphasized within the company.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift and carry trays up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Maintain a neat and hygienic appearance and proper uniform.

Responsibilities

• Acquaint yourself with our menu and Japanese cuisine.
• Learn about beer, wine, and sake and provide cocktail service to guests waiting for their table.
• Maintain awareness of dining room pace and coordinate with team for smooth table turns.
• Plan and communicate table placement and guest notes for reservations with managers and servers.
• Build trust with guests and provide timely updates while they wait for their table.
