Job summary

MSU Residential and Hospitality Services invites applicants to join The State Room Restaurant at Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center. As a state room restaurant host, you will greet and seat guests, take reservations, and assist dining parties across breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts.

Ideal candidates are customer-focused, dependable, and able to work 15–25 hours weekly, including evenings and weekends. Previous hospitality or customer-service experience is a plus, with opportunities to support

Qualifications

• Must be able to work at least 15 hours/week, including evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
• Work two weekday lunches (10:30am-2:30pm) and satisfy scheduling needs.

Responsibilities

• Greet, seat, and escort guests to tables.
• Take dining reservations and manage seating.
• Assist customers needing extra attention (children, elderly).
• Clean and maintain appearance of the restaurant.
• Support wait staff and reset tables for the next guests.
• Restock buffet and provide exceptional customer service.
