Job summary

The Kellogg Center invites applicants for a part-time server role at The State Room Restaurant inside the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in East Lansing.

Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, taking reservations, assisting staff, keeping the dining area clean, and delivering outstanding customer service, with shifts Tue/Thu lunch and additional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
• Must be able to work at least 15 hours/week, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to work MSU graduation weekends, football & basketball home game days, minimum of 2-3 shifts a week, Monday-Saturday, days, evenings, weekends.

Assist with breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service at The State Room Restaurant inside the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center:

• Must be able to work Tuesday & Thursday lunch shifts: 10:30 am -2:30 pm
• Greeting, seating, and escorting guests
• Take dining reservations
• Assist customers who require extra attention (children and elderly)
• Cleaning and maintaining the appearance of the restaurant
• Assist wait staff as needed
• Helping reset tables for next customers
• Provide exceptional customer service

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to work at least 15 hours/week, including evenings and weekends
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding guest service.
• Must be able to work MSU graduation weekends, football & basketball home game days, minimum of 2-3 shifts a week, Monday-Saturday, days, evenings, weekends.
• Sample shifts: 6:30am-10:30am or 10am-3pm weekdays, 3:30pm-10pm Tuesday-Saturday.
• Previous restaurant or customer service experience desired.
  Work hours: 15-25 hours per week both weekday & weekends, schedules vary week to week.
• Work at least 2 weekday lunches (10:30 am – 2:30 pm)

Previous restaurant or food service experience is desired.
