Job summary

Sand Valley, located in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, is looking for a Host to manage reservations and greet guests at our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, organizational abilities, and good communication skills.

This position can be full-time or part-time and is an hourly role with compensation at $9 per hour plus tips. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and physically able to perform various tasks.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old by their first day of employment.
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette and front-of-house operations.
• Ability to manage reservations and guest inquiries efficiently.
• Demonstrated customer-service skills with a professional, friendly demeanor.
• Excellent verbal communication skills; able to give and follow instructions clearly.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor dining and bar areas.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Physically able to stand, walk, bend, reach for extended periods (up to 5 hours).
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 30 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to visually inspect and maintain work areas for cleanliness and organization.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the restaurant.
• Manage reservations.
• Escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas.
• Provide menus and announce Waiter/Waitress’s name.
• Greet customers upon their departure.
• Coordinate with wait staff regarding seating options.
• Maintain a clean reception area.
• Cater to guests requiring extra attention.
• Assist wait staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as appropriate.
