Job summary

The Press Hotel in Portland, Maine, newly owned and managed by EOS Hospitality, is seeking a Host for Union restaurant. Full-time hours with morning and evening shifts. Wage is $18.00 per hour plus a share of the service tip pool.

Join a team of hospitality professionals in a vibrant Portland setting. Responsibilities include greeting and seating guests, managing reservations via Resi, assisting servers, and ensuring smooth service flow from seating to post-service duties.

Qualifications

• Prior host experience preferred.
• Background check completed.
• Available for flexible hours including weekdays and weekends.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, and seat guests at assigned tables based on reservations and walk-ins.
• Maximize seating and revenue by managing reservations using Resi.
• Contact guests to move, confirm, or adjust reservations.
• Support servers and bartenders during service periods.
• Reset tables promptly and maintain a tidy host stand.
• Take to-go and in-room dining orders and process payments securely.
• Communicate reservation notes to the assigned server.
• Attend meetings and training sessions and assist with additional duties as needed.
