Job summary

Hook & Reel in New York is seeking friendly Hosts/Hostesses to be the first point of contact for guests. You will greet guests, manage seating, handle waitlists, escort guests to tables, and help ensure a positive dining experience from arrival to departure.

This role requires excellent communication, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is expected, with competitive hourly pay and flexible scheduling.

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating arrangements.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist with guest inquiries.
• Maintain an organized seating chart to optimize restaurant flow.
• Communicate effectively with managers, servers, and kitchen staff regarding table availability and guest needs.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lobby, entrance, and waiting areas.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Support restaurant operations as needed during busy periods.
