Job summary

Red Door Woodfired Grill in Kansas City, MO is seeking a friendly Host to warmly greet guests, manage seating, and uphold our upscale hospitality standards. You will coordinate with servers, inform guests of specials, and help maintain a polished dining room while delivering genuine service.

As the first and last impression, you will ensure guests feel seen, valued, and welcomed, creating memorable moments and smooth service across busy periods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
• Strong verbal communication and guest interaction skills.
• Hospitality-focused attitude; prior restaurant experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet each guest with enthusiasm and sincerity.
• Articulate greetings, farewells, and guests' needs clearly.
• Manage the dining room pace and flow for balance.
• Assign suitable tables based on guest needs and server availability.
• Quote wait times, manage reservations, and coordinate seating.
• Inform guests of specials, promotions, and events.
• Communicate with servers, bartenders, and managers for smooth service.
• Open doors for guests entering or exiting.
• Handle cash or gift card transactions related to gift certificates or to-go orders.
• Support carryout and curbside operations when needed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the host stand and entry area.
• Monitor atmosphere to ensure welcoming upscale environment.
• Uphold brand standards and Leave your troubles at the door.
