Job summary

IHOP in Bakersfield is seeking a friendly host with strong service and people skills to greet guests, seat them, and help manage guest flow. You’ll handle cash and credit card transactions and assist in processing To-Go and Delivery Orders.

The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, stays positive, and supports a team with flexible shifts. Training is provided with opportunities for advancement and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must be able to multitask and communicate effectively.
• Must be a team player and flexible with shifts.
• Experience handling money transactions is a plus.
• Excellent guest service mindset and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet, seat, and escort guests to tables.
• Open the door for guests arriving and departing.
• Accommodate special needs (boosters, highchairs, disabilities).
• Process To-Go and Delivery Orders.
• Manage wait list when the restaurant is busy.
• Provide menu recommendations and information.
• Upsell additional products when appropriate.
• Take orders using software or memorization.
• Communicate order details to kitchen staff.
• Deliver food and beverages in a timely fashion.
• Deliver checks and collect payments.
• Clean and maintain the restaurant’s appearance.
• Provide exceptional customer experience.
