Job summary

Trapper's Sushi Hawks Prairie is seeking a friendly Host/Cashier to greet guests warmly, manage the waitlist and seating rotation, handle takeout orders with accuracy, and process payments while upholding cash-handling procedures.

You will maintain a clean, welcoming host stand and lobby, communicate clearly with servers and kitchen staff, ensure ADA access, assist with to-go packaging when volume requires, and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented culture with room for advancement.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal communication and ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail when entering orders, quoting wait times, or processing payments.
• Must obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit/State Food Worker Card prior to the first day of work (per state law).

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests with warmth and enthusiasm.
• Manage waitlist, seating rotation, and table availability for smooth service flow.
• Answer phones and handle takeout orders with accuracy.
• Process payments and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and lobby.
• Communicate seating plans and special requests with servers and kitchen staff.
• Monitor lobby for ADA access and guest needs.
• Assist with to-go packaging when volume requires.
• Uphold safety, sanitation, and PPE standards and promote a respectful team environment.
