Job summary

Hawkers, LLC is seeking a friendly Host to welcome guests and guide them to seating, ensuring an adventurous and enjoyable dining experience. You will be the first and lasting impression of the restaurant, providing menus, sharing specials, and coordinating with servers to optimize guest flow.

The role emphasizes guest connection, accurate wait-time estimates, and maintaining a clean, vibrant host area. A team-oriented environment with growth opportunities awaits dedicated individuals.

Qualifications

• Welcome and connect with guests, making all guests feel comfortable.
• Estimate wait time for guests to be seated using seating software.
• Text guests with seating software or call out the name and number of the party when their table becomes available.
• Seat guests based on their preference, and balance customer flow through each server section.
• Inspect the table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers and server assistants as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Perform side work at the start, during, and end of each shift, as required by service station assignment.
• Maintain clean and organized service areas, guest areas, and Host stand.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and guide them to their tables.
• Manage seating workflow to balance server sections during service.
• Relay messages to servers and helpers to ensure timely service.
• Provide menus and introduce the server’s name and specials to guests.
• Thank guests and invite them to return after dining.
• Perform side work and maintain a clean host station throughout the shift.
• Answer phone promptly for takeout and reservations, and assist with special requests.
