Job summary

Hawkers Asian Street Food in Charlotte, NC seeks an enthusiastic HOST to create an adventurous dining experience and warmly welcome guests. You will estimate wait times with seating software, call or text parties when tables are ready, and seat guests balancing flow across sections.

As a key ambassador, you’ll present menus, introduce drinks and desserts, maintain a clean host stand, and relay messages to staff. 18+ required, and you’ll perform side work and assist with to-go orders as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Welcome and connect with guests, making all guests feel comfortable and confident that you are there to personally take care of them.
• Estimate wait time for guests to be seated using the seating software.
• Text guests with the seating software or call out the name and number of the party when their table becomes available.
• Seat guests based on their preference, and balance customer flow through each server section.
• Provide guests with a menu, and their server’s name, and introduce the specialty drinks/dessert menu.
• Inspect the table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers and server assistants as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Perform side work at the start, during, and end of each shift, as required by service station assignment.
• Maintain clean and organized service areas, guest areas, and Host stand.
• Interact with guests while they are waiting for a table and being seated and while walking them to their table.
• Bring menus, napkins, boosters, chairs, etc. to the table while seating guests.
• Answer the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Take ‘To-Go’ orders if necessary, or as directed by Leadership.
• Operate the POS.

• You are the first and lasting impression of the food, service, and vibe of the restaurant through your connection with guests.

• Assist with accommodation of special guest needs and ensure smooth seating and guest flow.
