Job summary

Terranea Resorts in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA seeks an energetic Host/Hostess to greet guests, seat at tables, and ensure exceptional service. You will coordinate with servers and kitchen, maintain cleanliness, and uphold Terranea’s service standards in a fast-paced resort dining environment.

Ideal candidates speak English, have strong communication skills, and can work well under pressure while maintaining a professional appearance. Food Handler’s Card is required; High School diploma preferred.

• Ability to implement and uphold service standards.
• Ability to interact with all associates and guests of the resort.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at the door and escort/direct them to a table.
• Set tables according to service standards.
• Introduce the guests server as they sit down.
• Communicate with the kitchen regarding guests counts and length of wait for tables.
• Always smile and greet guests with a warm welcome.
• Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and hostess stand throughout the day.
• Make silverware roll ups throughout the shift.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
• Run food and bus tables when you find extra time.
• Anticipate and address guests` service needs
• Check the restroom and perimeter of the restaurant every 30 minutes to ensure cleanliness
• Thank guests with genuine appreciation
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
