Job summary

Washington National Cathedral is seeking an experienced House Manager to join our Guest Event Management Services (GEMS) team. This role provides on-site house management during daily hours and events, ensuring a welcoming, safe environment for visitors.

You will supervise Guest Services Associates and Volunteers, coordinate with Box Office, and prepare briefing materials for worship services, concerts, and public programs while upholding the Cathedral’s mission and priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in arts management, hospitality, event planning, customer service or related field.
• Two to three years’ experience in arts management, special events management, customer service, and/or facility operations.
• Supervisory experience with staff or volunteers.
• Experience in the non-profit work environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site house management and support for daily sightseeing hours and events.
• Coordinate with Box Office, Leads, Operations, Worship, and Programming teams; troubleshoot issues during programs.
• Greet visitors, guide groups and individuals, and enforce Cathedral policies.
• Manage seating and ADA accommodations; process related requests.
• Supervise Guest Services Associates, Guides, and Volunteers; ensure adequate coverage for events.
