Shinola Detroit seeks a Front Desk Agent to warmly welcome guests, handle reservations, and manage check-in/check-out with accuracy and courtesy. You’ll answer inquiries, promote rooms, and ensure smooth cash handling and billing while maintaining an informed, friendly presence at the front desk.

Qualifications

• Must have high school graduate level mathematical aptitude and cash handling knowledge.
• Experience dealing with the public and strong customer service skills.
• Fluent in oral and written English.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with tact and understanding.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and complete check-in procedures using manual and computerized methods.
• Process check-outs and close guest accounts per procedures.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and provide precise charges at check-out.
• Answer inquiries and take reservations in person/phone, promoting room nights.
• Maintain good customer relations with timely and knowledgeable responses.
• Operate the PBX and manage wake-up calls and paging for guests.
• Maintain cash control according to hotel policy.
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful demeanor at all times.
