Job summary

Panera Bread in Portage, IN is seeking a Restaurant Team Member to be the heart of hospitality, delivering warm service and high-quality food across Production, Prep, Service, Cashier, and more.

You’ll greet guests, assemble fresh salads and sandwiches, maintain a clean, safe dining area, and help the team during busy shifts. Prior food service is welcome but not required, and flexible scheduling is available.

Qualifications

• 16+ minimum age, ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods
• Clear communication in a loud environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for making guests smile
• Interest in creating moments of comfort, connection, and joy for guests
• Fast-paced, multitasking capability, reliability and punctuality
• Food Safety training (Food Handler’s Card) as required by law

Responsibilities

• Execute duties for specific bakery-cafe areas (Production, Prep, Service, Cashier, Expo, Drive-Thru, Barista, Guest Experience Champion, QC, etc.)
• Greet guests with warmth and enthusiasm
• Assemble fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches with care and efficiency
• Assist guests at entry, cashier, and dining areas
• Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment per food safety standards
• Stay informed on daily priorities and adapt with a positive attitude
• Support team by completing cleaning, stocking, and setting up next shift
