Job summary

Kroger in Warsaw, IN is hiring for a cashier/counter position to provide outstanding customer service at the checkout and across the department. You will greet customers, process payments, manage diverse tender types and uphold store policies with accuracy and integrity.

The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, product knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while helping customers feel welcome and valued.

Responsibilities

• Greeting, assisting and engaging customers in the store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently at the check lane.
• Operate the POS system and handle tender types per policy (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Adhere to cash control, shortages and overages guidelines and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures; identify and report hazards.
• Inspect equipment and coordinate repairs as needed; support a welcoming environment.
• Answer questions about products to help customers feel valued and informed.
