Job summary

Portillo’s Hot Dogs, LLC in Merrillville, IN is hiring team members to provide cheerful guest service, take orders, and support a fast-paced dining experience. Eligibility includes being 21+, one year at Portillo’s, and meeting part-time to full-time eligibility criteria. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply and advance within a fun, fast-moving team.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 or older to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Must have worked at Portillo’s for 1 year with an average of at least 20 hours over a 6-month period (for Employee Stock Purchase Plan eligibility).
• Military veterans encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly smile and provide excellent service.
• Describe menu items and answer questions.
• Take orders and payments at the counter and drive-thru.
• Work with urgency to keep long lines moving smoothly.
• Be a team player to help guests and colleagues.
• Pass out food orders and rhyme order numbers.
• Take catering and take-out orders over the phone.
• Check orders for accuracy and serve alcoholic beverages to guests 21+.
• Assist guests with event planning.
