• Customer service and retail skills, including engaging with diverse visitors, answering questions, and providing courteous, knowledgeable support.
• Point-of-sale and cash handling abilities, including operating registers, processing payments, and managing basic transaction records with accuracy.
• Merchandising and store operations skills, such as organizing displays, restocking products, and maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
• Communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Time management and reliability, with the ability to follow schedules, manage multiple tasks in a busy retail environment, and consistently arrive on time.
• Interest in American history, Washington, D.C. tourism, or themed retail environments is highly beneficial.
• Availability to work a part-time schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and peak visitor times.
• Previous retail or hospitality experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
