Job summary

Ugly Dumpling is seeking Server Assistants to support the server team and ensure a seamless dining experience for guests in New Hyde Park, NY. You will keep the dining area clean, assist in delivering meals, and help reset tables for the next seating, while upholding Ugly Dumpling’s standards of service and hospitality.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency, organization, and ability to multitask.
• Strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hours).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clear and reset tables promptly.
• Clean surfaces, chairs, and floors around tables after guests leave.
• Assist with filling water glasses and refilling beverages.
• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to tables accurately and timely.
• Confirm with servers and kitchen staff that each dish meets standards before delivery.
• Explain dishes to guests and maintain knowledge of the menu.
• Greet guests warmly and address requests or refer to servers/management.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness and sanitize tables, chairs, and floors.
• Assist opening/closing duties and stocking supplies.
• Work with servers, kitchen staff, and team to ensure smooth service.
• Communicate effectively with team to ensure accurate food delivery.
