Qualifications

• Collaborate with the dance instructor to align choreography with CTE, NJ VPA, and industry standards.
• Create and teach up to 10 minutes of original concert choreography appropriate to student skill levels and program goals.
• Model professional rehearsal etiquette, time management, and collaboration.
• Provide technical and artistic feedback to students to support skill development and performance quality.
• Adapt choreography as needed based on student abilities, spacing, and rehearsal constraints.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the dance instructor to align choreography with CTE, NJ VPA, and industry standards.
• Create and teach up to 10 minutes of original concert choreography appropriate to student skill levels and program goals.
• Model professional rehearsal etiquette, time management, and collaboration.
• Provide technical and artistic feedback to students to support skill development and performance quality.
• Adapt choreography as needed based on student abilities, spacing, and rehearsal constraints.
• Incorporate industry practices such as warm-ups, creative process discussion, and rehearsal protocols.
• Support students in understanding the choreographic process and career pathways in dance.
• Participate in rehearsals leading up to performances or assessments.
• Communicate progress, scheduling needs, and artistic goals with the supervising dance educator.
• Maintain intellectual property rights for original choreography, while granting the school permission to rehearse and perform the work for educational and concert purposes, as agreed upon in advance
• Observe and follow all school policies, schedules, and student safety procedures.
