Job summary

SSA Group at the Dallas Zoo is seeking a Retail Associate to join our team during the Zoo Light Season. You will help guests quickly and warmly, merchandise products, and support sustainability efforts.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, comfort with basic POS systems, and the ability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends. Prior experience in retail is not required, all education backgrounds eligible.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a team.
• Basic computer proficiency including POS and Excel.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 10–35 lbs.
• Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill guest’s needs quickly and efficiently.
• Inform leadership when item quantities are low; work with warehouse to pull items.
• Relay guest feedback to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace.
• Uphold company policies and procedures.
• Perform SSA EXTRA Guest Service steps for a memorable guest experience.
• Check and stock supplies in counters, floor displays and cabinets.
• Clean tables, chairs and equipment as needed.
• Keep counters and floors clean and debris-free.
• Maintain a balanced cash drawer as assigned.
• Merchandise product to maximize sales.
• Increase sales via promotions or suggestive selling.
• Support sustainability/conservation efforts and community engagement.
