Job summary

The Dewberry Charleston is seeking a friendly Citrus Club Host to welcome guests, manage reservations, and coordinate seating for the Citrus Club and hotel dining outlets. You will uphold our 5-Star standards and contribute to a seamless guest experience in a vibrant downtown Charleston setting.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, using Resy for seating, maintaining waitlists, and collaborating with servers, the kitchen, and managers to ensure timely seating and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe food handling procedures.
• Familiarity with or ability to learn Resy.
• Ability to effectively handle difficult situations and patrons.
• Ability to multitask and complete assigned tasks to ensure smooth service.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependable work ethic with a positive attitude.
• Must demonstrate punctuality and reliable attendance.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to balance, crouch, stretch, and reach in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a hot, humid, and noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons with a friendly welcome and direct them to outlets as needed.
• Utilize Resy to seat patrons in rotation and manage waitlists.
• Notify the appropriate server upon guest arrival.
• Maintain communication between rooftop and ground floor hosts.
• Have basic knowledge of menu items and daily specials.
• Provide a courteous farewell and ensure guest satisfaction on departure.
• Keep the host stand clean, organized, and sanitary.
• Support servers, kitchen, and managers as needed.
• Address guest complaints and escalate to management as required.
• Attend pre-service lineup meetings.
