Job summary

The Texas State Aquarium is seeking an on-call guest service team member to operate the register, sell admissions and memberships, and assist in family-oriented areas such as Ocean Odyssey and Splash Park. You will greet guests, answer questions, and help surveys while maintaining clean and organized spaces.

Strong emphasis on cashiering, customer interaction, and safe and friendly guest experiences. Prior experience helpful but not required; GED or less accepted.

Qualifications

• Up to one month related experience or training acceptable
• Equivalent education/experience also meets qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate point of sale register and handle funds responsibly
• Sell admission tickets and memberships and complete paperwork
• Assist with Ocean Odyssey and Splash Park children's areas
• Clean Ocean Odyssey area and other assigned areas
• Open/close and monitor Splash Park area
• Greet guests, answer questions, and conduct surveys
• Guide school groups on aquarium rules and visit information
• Provide exceptional guest service to ensure a quality guest experience

Responsibilities include but are not limed to:

• Operate point of sale register and maintain accountability for funds in all areas assigned
• Follow established procedures to sell admission tickets and memberships and complete associated paperwork
• Assist with and organizing in the Ocean Odyssey and Splash park childrens areas
• Follow established procedures for cleaning of Ocean Odyssey area and other areas as assigned
• Follow established procedures for opening, closing, and monitoring of the splash park area
• Act as line host or lobby host answering guest questions, providing guests with information for their visit and performing survey requests
• Serve as a greeter for school groups, and provide these groups with information regarding aquarium rules and regulations
• Provide exceptional guest service tocreate a quality guest experience

Requirements

Less than High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required for consideration; or up to one month related experience or training. An equivalent combination of education or experience would also meet the required qualifications.

This is an On Call position.
