Job summary

The Guardian ad Litem Office, 15th Circuit, seeks a Child Advocate Manager to oversee a team of volunteers, coordinate with state agencies, and advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in dependency court proceedings. The role includes preparing reports, providing testimony, and guiding case developments.

Ideal candidates bring leadership, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of child welfare statutes, with a commitment to professional certification and ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sociology, social work, psychology or related field preferred; experience considered.
• 2 years experience in programs focusing on child welfare, social services, counseling, supervising volunteers.
• All hires after Feb 1, 2020 must obtain Child Advocate Manager Certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Department of Children and Families, law enforcement and schools.
• Oversee Guardian ad Litem Office volunteers and assign to cases.
• Gather and document case information and provide best interests referrals to court and partners.
• Prepare written court reports and provide testimony as required.
• Attend court hearings, depositions and case conferences; visit children and families.
