Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Wilson, NC is seeking a skilled welder for 2nd shift to set up and operate GTAW welding equipment on thin-gauge materials, read drawings, and follow AWS D17.1 criteria. You will perform welding operations, inspect welds, repair as needed, and help train peers while adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with 1+ year welding experience.
• 1+ years GTAW welding experience.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate GTAW welding equipment according to drawings and WPS ranges.
• Perform welding operations on thin-gauge materials (e.g., 4130 stainless, aluminum, titanium).
• Inspect welds using calipers, micrometers, borescopes and other tools; repair as needed.
• Adhere to safety, EH&S, and quality standards; maintain clean work area.
• Assist in training other welders and interpret technical documents.
