Job summary

The Weinberg Institute at the University of Michigan seeks one Graduate Student Instructor for Winter 2027 to support faculty-led lectures in COGSCI 446: Cognitive Science and Generative AI, with about 150 enrolled students.

The GSI will teach lab sections, grade assignments, attend lectures, hold at least two office hours weekly, and coordinate with the lead instructor while responding to student emails; position may be onsite or hybrid per department policy.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in good standing as a graduate student at the University of Michigan.
• Available to teach the scheduled section times.
• Experience with the relevant courses and demonstrated interest in the subject area.
• English proficiency may require ELI evaluation if instruction language was not English.

Responsibilities

• Attend lectures and participate in in-person sessions as scheduled.
• Provide at least two office hours weekly.
• Support students in coursework and labs.
• Grade assignments under lead faculty guidance.
• Meet weekly with the lead instructor and respond promptly to emails.
