Job summary

UPS in Anchorage is seeking a Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on UPS GSE, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, and electrical systems.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues with test equipment, performing repairs, documenting parts and labor, meeting DOT safety requirements, and safely handling equipment weighing up to 70 pounds with potential overtime and night/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

Previous experience maintaining and repairing Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues using test equipment and manuals.
Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
Willing to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

Perform daily and preventive maintenance on Ground Support Equipment to ensure safety and performance.
Diagnose and repair components such as carburetors, governors, air/oil cleaners, ignition parts, and sensors.
Operate and test ground equipment for performance and quality assurance.
Document all repairs, parts, and labor in the system.
Meet DOT requirements and follow safety procedures.
Move and handle equipment weighing up to 70 pounds; assist with heavier items as needed.
