Job summary

UPS is seeking a qualified Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on UPS ground equipment, including gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, and electrical systems.

Starting pay is $42.13 per hour. Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and/or probation period, $0 healthcare

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and repairs on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) including gas/diesel engines and hydraulic/air brake systems.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues using test equipment and manuals.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and bring necessary personal tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and preventive maintenance on all Ground Support Equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Diagnose problems using test equipment and manuals.
• Remove, test, repair, or replace components such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition components, and sensors.
• Operate and test ground equipment for performance assessment and quality assurance.
• Document repairs, parts, and labor in the computer records.
• Adhere to D.O.T requirements and safety protocols.
• Collaborate effectively in a diverse environment and communicate clearly to perform tasks.
