Job summary

Firefly Aerospace in Briggs, TX seeks a Ground Support Equipment Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate the procurement and fabrication of hardware across launch vehicles and test stands. You will work with engineers, welders, purchasers, and contractors to ensure high quality, cost-effective, on-time GSE builds at the Briggs site.

The role leverages your materials and fabrication knowledge to improve manufacturability and operability, with exposure to aerospace hardware across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 1-3 years manufacturing experience with welded assemblies and related components.
• Knowledge of nondestructive evaluation methods for weldments.
• Experience with CAD software and ERP systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and communicate progress clearly.
• Familiarity with GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
• Understanding of fluid system components relevant to manufacturing.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve the work order process from engineering release to fabrication.
• Interact with technicians to reconcile design intent with as-built data.
• Make/buy decisions to meet budget and schedule requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships and internal customers.
• Participate in design reviews for operability and manufacturability.
• Create milestone schedules to show build progress to stakeholders.
• Identify and disposition non-conformances throughout the build lifecycle.
• Assist design engineers with mBOMs, RFQs, and inventory management.
