Job summary

JSX is seeking a Manager of Ground Support Equipment to lead the GSE maintenance program across locations. You’ll oversee safety, reliability, lifecycle management, and vendor coordination while guiding technicians to meet manufacturer specs and JSX standards.

You’ll drive preventive maintenance, manage budgets, and develop long‑term fleet plans. A hands‑on leader with strong technical and people skills will thrive in this role with travel ~50% across JSX stations.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in ground support equipment, automotive, heavy equipment, fleet, or industrial maintenance.
3+ years of supervisory or management experience in a maintenance or operational environment.
High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel, gasoline, and battery‑powered equipment.
Experience developing or managing preventive maintenance programs and maintenance tracking systems.
Strong working knowledge of tools, test equipment, service manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, technical publications, and OEM maintenance requirements.
Experience analyzing maintenance data, preparing reports, developing procedures, and presenting recommendations to leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and electronic maintenance or asset‑tracking systems.
Current and valid driver’s license.
Ability to safely operate, tow, and position applicable vehicles and ground support equipment.
Ability to travel approximately 50% and work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
Ability to occasionally lift 75+ pounds and perform physical activities including bending, reaching, climbing, and prolonged standing.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods in hot, cold, wet, or other adverse conditions.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety, reliability, availability, and lifecycle management of GSE and related equipment.
Lead, coach, schedule, and develop GSE technicians with clear safety and quality expectations.
Maintain reliability and serviceability of tugs, belt loaders, ramps, A/C units, etc.
Prioritize preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment recovery.
Provide technical direction for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, diesel, gasoline, battery systems.
Document assets, inspections, maintenance activity, and returns to service in tracking system.
Monitor open repairs and coordinate timely completion to minimize downtime.
Develop OEM-based PM schedules, service standards, and quality-control processes.
Collaborate with station leaders to understand priorities and coordinate substitutions or rentals.
Manage third-party repair providers, rental companies, and parts suppliers.
Maintain parts inventories, shop tooling, and materials to support timely repairs.
Develop repair-versus-replace recommendations and long-term fleet plans.
Conduct station inspections and assess asset condition and life.
Maintain clean, organized GSE work areas and tools.
Track performance metrics like downtime, turnaround, and costs.
Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of GSE Crewmembers.
Collaborate across departments to meet operational needs.
Lead special projects and provide additional operational support as needed.
