Job summary

American Airlines in Pittsburgh is seeking an IAM Plant Maintenance Mechanic for Ground Service Equipment. The role involves performing auto mechanic and journeyman-level tasks to maintain GSE systems at PIT-OPSB, with shifts that may include weekends and holidays and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and service electrical, hydraulic, heating/AC, and associated systems while ensuring licenses and certifications are kept up to date.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 18 months training from an accredited school in automotive mechanical maintenance, or 18 months mechanical experience on automotive equipment.
• Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand English.
• Must possess the applicable state or city license.
• Willingness to work outdoors in any weather conditions per safety guidelines.
• Ability to work extra hours when operational needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Execute assignments requiring auto mechanic skills.
• Tow ground equipment.
• Execute assignments requiring skills from a skilled journeyman trade.
• Execute assignments requiring electrical skills.
• Execute assignments involving high-pressure hydraulic skills.
• Execute assignments requiring heating and air conditioning-related skills.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and/or qualifications.
• Connect/remove ground power and ground start units.
