Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic - Automotive to perform complex automotive and ground equipment maintenance tasks, including planning, troubleshooting, disassembly, rebuilding and reassembly.

The role requires rotating shifts, weekend/holiday work, and the ability to obtain airport authority or US Customs security badges as applicable; a valid state driver’s license is required. You will collaborate with ground operations to ensure aircraft readiness and safe operation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of journeyman experience as an automotive mechanic
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off
• Valid state driver’s license
• Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable

Responsibilities

• Lay-out, planning and execution of the complex maintenance assignments.
• Trouble shoot, disassemble, clean, check, repair, rework, replace, fabricate, assemble, install and adjust any automotive and ground equipment.
• De‑icing of aircraft; cleaning of aircraft windshields; pushing out/towing of aircraft and related guideman functions; connecting/removing ground power and ground start units
