Job summary

American Airlines in Charlotte is seeking a Supervisor for Plant/Ground Service Equipment Base Maintenance. You will lead GSE maintenance operations across all shop locations, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with union contracts.

The role requires supervising and coordinating teams, applying standards, and maintaining equipment documentation to support airline operations. Join a large network that keeps the world’s largest airline running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Automotive, GSE or Heavy equipment operations experience in production along with parts procurement as a supervisor or lead mechanic.
• 1 year experience supervising and/or directing workgroups preferably in a union environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and leads the Plant/Ground Support Equipment maintenance workload, resources and activities for GSE workgroups at all GSE shop locations in the station
• Administers and coordinates the activities of assigned work group(s) in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the GSE station, Manager, Senior Manager, Director or Managing Director
• Ensures continuing safety, compliance, dependability and reliability
• Ensures harmonious working relationship with union workforce and understanding / application of union contractual language
• Prioritizes and administers inspections and maintenance programs, recommending any revisions needed to provide mechanical performance and reliability of ground equipment
• Understands and applies all standards, policies and procedures for Company ground equipment
• Ensures technical documents are complied with on Company ground equipment
• Performs any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned in order to achieve department and Company objectives
