Job summary
Swissport in Sterling, VA is seeking a Fleet Mechanic Supervisor to lead daily operations of the GSE shop and provide technical guidance to maintenance staff. You will plan and schedule vehicle maintenance, coordinate repairs with ramps and customers, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and EPA standards while maintaining inventory and budget control.
A Heavy/Commercial or Automotive certification and Maximo knowledge are required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years experience of GSE/Fleet Maintenance.
- Experience in a supervisory role.
- Valid driver's license.
- Trade certification in Heavy duty/Commercial or Automotive mechanic.
- Knowledge of Maximo maintenance program.
- Good oral and written communication.
- Willing to travel for training or to assist other SP stations as required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operation of the fleet shop.
- Provide technical guidance for maintenance and repairs.
- Plan vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules.
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Coordinate repairs with ramp and customers.
- Manage inventory and budget control.
- Maintain shop appearance and EPA compliance.
- Maintain valid motor vehicle licenses as required.
