Job summary

Renewal Falls Recovery Center, opening September 2026 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, is seeking a highly driven and relationship-focused Director of Business Development to lead referral development, market growth, and community engagement efforts.

This role requires building and executing a strategic business development plan that drives admissions, strengthens referral partnerships, and establishes Renewal Falls as a premier provider of substance use disorder treatment in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of business development experience, preferably in behavioral health or healthcare.
• Proven ability to drive admissions growth and build referral networks.
• Strong understanding of substance use disorder treatment and continuum of care.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and regionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve census and growth targets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources including hospitals, providers, therapists, case managers, and community partners.
• Identify and cultivate new referral opportunities and strategic partnerships across Iowa and surrounding markets.
• Collaborate with admissions and operations teams to optimize conversion rates and patient experience.
• Monitor referral pipeline, market trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategy.
• Represent Renewal Falls at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
• Conduct regular outreach, including in-person meetings, presentations, and educational sessions.
• Track and report key performance metrics including referrals, admissions, and conversion rates.
• Partner with leadership on growth initiatives, including new service lines and market expansion.
• Maintain knowledge of payer mix, program offerings, and length of stay to support strategic positioning.
