Quiddity, a civil engineering and planning firm based in Texas, seeks a motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting activities and learn across A/R, A/P, GL, and reporting. The role emphasizes accuracy, organization, and collaboration within a growing professional services team in Houston.

You'll handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close support, and financial documentation while developing strong accounting foundations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting activities across multiple areas of the business.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable (A/R), including payment processing and account follow-up.
• Assist with Accounts Payable (A/P), including invoice review, coding, processing, and vendor account maintenance.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Assist with General Ledger activities and month-end close processes.
• Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Conduct account analysis to identify trends, variances, and unusual activity.
• Assist with preparation of financial and management reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies.
• Take on additional accounting responsibilities and projects as skills and experience develop.
