Job summary

Compass Group USA, operating Bon Appétit Management Company, is seeking a full-time Sous Chef at Cornell College, Mount Vernon, IA 52314. The role requires kitchen leadership, culinary excellence, and the ability to supervise cooks and food-service staff.

You will cook to approved recipes, supervise daily production, ensure sanitation, manage inventory, and support guest service during peak hours; weekend and evening availability is required. Benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary and supervisory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service staff, including scheduling, payroll, training and reviews.
• Stores food in designated areas following all safety procedures.
• Maintains proper food handling, presentation, portion control and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils and keeps work areas clean.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints and communicates with supervisor.
