Job summary

V-Bar Equipment Company is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting team and drive growth across multiple locations. You will oversee day-to-day accounting, payroll, credits, and fixed assets while partnering with leadership to build scalable processes.

You will supervise two accounting professionals, implement internal controls, and help transition to audited financials and a modern ERP system as the business expands.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Strong financial statement preparation and accounting experience.
• Experience with financial metrics, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
• Knowledge of credit management, fixed assets, and inventory‑intensive businesses.
• Payroll administration experience.
• Proven supervisory experience.
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
• HR experience preferred.
• IT systems or technology background a plus.
• Equipment dealership, rental, construction, or industrial industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Manage payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
• Lead and develop a two‑person accounting team.
• Oversee customer credit and collections.
• Support branch managers with financial analysis, process improvement, and accountability.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls and financial processes.
• Assist with inventory management and asset tracking.
• Help lead the implementation of a new ERP/business management system.
• Support HR administration and company policies.
• Travel periodically between branch locations.
