Job summary

Caribou Coffee is seeking an Assistant General Manager in a growth-focused role aimed at developing future leaders who think strategically about our stores and district vision. You will partner with the General Manager to lead daily operations, drive guest experiences, and build a strong team culture.

You will be responsible for executing sales plans, mentoring staff, and ensuring outstanding service while supporting community impact and alignment with Caribou's core values.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of customer service experience in food service or retail.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates the doing of Team Member and Shift Leader with enthusiasm and excellence.
• Develops business understanding toward the level of a General Manager within a year.
• Creates joyful connections with guests and teaches the team to do the same.
• Drives sales goals through speed, service, and problem solving.
• Leads on resolution of issues with calm, professionalism, and listening to understand.
• Understands how daily actions impact profitability and the P&L.
• Organizes and improves administrative tasks to support store success.
• Oversees cash handling, deposits, and compliance on shift.
• Places and verifies orders, conducts inventory, and rotates stock as needed.
• Maintains store standards while planning for future shifts and coverage.
• Seeks root causes to implement sustainable improvements.
• Champions Caribou values and fosters a positive, growth-minded culture.
