Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a Millwright / Maintenance Technician to support our Burney, California sawmill. You will maintain and repair mechanical systems, troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and fabricate parts as needed.

Qualifications

• 2 years of verifiable related maintenance experience or equivalent education.
• Proficient welding, cutting, and using hand tools.
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.
• Boom truck and crane operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate cause of malfunction, replace parts or fabricate as needed.
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
• Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems and equipment for efficient operation.
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck.
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed.
• Perform general maintenance safely and maintain a clean work area.
• Work may include varying shifts and overtime including weekends/holidays.
