Job description

About ScribeUp

ScribeUp is a Series A embedded fintech building AI-powered subscription and recurring bill management infrastructure for financial institutions.

In roughly 18 months, ScribeUp has grown from zero to 60+ signed financial institutions. The company recently raised a $10M Series A to accelerate the next stage of growth across Product, Engineering and Go-to-Market.

ScribeUp's technology sits directly inside financial-institution experiences and helps consumers understand and take action on their recurring financial lives. The platform combines recurring-payment and bill detection, transaction intelligence and agentic execution capabilities that can help consumers manage bills through actions such as cancellations, payment updates, bill savings & more.

ScribeUp is building teams in New York City and Los Angeles and operates in a highly collaborative environment.

The Role

We're hiring a Growth Lead to build ScribeUp's demand-generation engine from the ground up.

You'll work directly with our Chief Commercial Officer and the broader commercial team to determine which accounts ScribeUp should pursue, how we reach them and which channels consistently generate qualified opportunities.

This is not a traditional marketing-management job where you inherit an established team, mature playbook and predetermined channel mix. You'll need to build it.

That means developing the target-account strategy, creating outbound campaigns, determining where paid programs make sense, building an events strategy, managing agencies and outside resources, improving awareness in the market and establishing the infrastructure needed to understand what is actually generating pipeline.

The Growth Lead owns creating qualified demand. Sales owns closing it.

What You'll Own
Build the Demand-Generation Engine
  • Build ScribeUp's top-of-funnel growth motion from the ground up.
  • Develop demand-generation strategy across banks, credit unions and fintechs.
  • Determine which channels and programs are most likely to create qualified opportunities.
  • Build the operating rhythms and measurement needed to understand what is working.
  • Test quickly, learn from the market and scale the programs that perform.
Target Accounts and ICP
  • Build and maintain ScribeUp's target-account universe.
  • Develop clear segmentation across banks, credit unions, fintechs and other priority accounts.
  • Prioritize accounts based on fit, opportunity and likelihood to buy.
  • Partner with Sales and leadership on account strategy.
  • Build campaigns tailored to specific segments rather than relying on generic SaaS messaging.
Outbound
  • Develop outbound strategy and sequencing.
  • Build messaging that speaks directly to financial-institution buyers.
  • Coordinate email, LinkedIn and other outbound channels.
  • Manage internal and external resources supporting outbound activity.
  • Continuously improve messaging and targeting based on response and conversion data.
Events and Conferences
  • Determine which banking, credit-union and fintech events deserve ScribeUp's time and investment.
  • Build pre-event account targeting and outreach.
  • Develop onsite strategies designed to generate meaningful conversations.
  • Build post-event follow-up programs.
  • Measure event performance based on qualified pipeline rather than attendance alone.
Paid and External Programs
  • Own paid-demand programs where they make sense for ScribeUp's market.
  • Manage third-party cold-outreach, demand-generation and other agencies.
  • Coordinate with PR or external marketing resources where relevant.
  • Hold outside partners accountable to measurable outcomes.
  • Determine which activities should ultimately move in-house.
Brand Awareness
  • Help increase ScribeUp's visibility across the financial-institution and fintech ecosystem.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen positioning with the audiences that matter most.
  • Coordinate content, PR and other awareness programs when they support demand creation.
  • Ensure brand activity ultimately connects back to commercial goals.
Funnel Performance
  • Partner with Sales to clearly define a sales-qualified lead.
  • Track conversion from initial engagement through qualified opportunity.
  • Build visibility into pipeline contribution by source and channel.
  • Understand cost and performance across growth programs.
  • Make clear recommendations about where ScribeUp should invest more and where it should stop spending time or money.
Build the Function
  • Establish the processes and playbooks future growth hires can build on.
  • Help determine when ScribeUp should add BDR, marketing or other growth resources.
  • Eventually help build a broader Growth organization around the motion you create.
What Good Looks Like

Within your first several months, ScribeUp should have:

  • A clearly defined and prioritized target-account universe.
  • A repeatable outbound motion.
  • A thoughtful financial-institution event strategy.
  • Clearer ownership and accountability across agencies and outside resources.
  • Funnel reporting that shows which activities create qualified opportunities.
  • Strong alignment between Growth and Sales.

Longer term, success means ScribeUp is no longer primarily dependent on inbound demand and opportunistic introductions. The company should have a repeatable engine generating qualified conversations across the market.

What We're Looking For
  • Meaningful B2B demand-generation or growth experience.
  • Direct experience generating demand in banktech, fintech or financial-services technology.
  • Experience marketing or selling technology to banks, credit unions, fintechs or closely related financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of how financial institutions evaluate and buy technology.
  • Evidence of personally building pipeline, not simply managing people who did.
  • Hands-on experience with several of the following: outbound, ABM, paid programs, events, list building, agencies and campaign strategy.
  • Experience working directly with a sales organization.
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort owning funnel metrics.
  • Ability to build structure where the playbook does not yet exist.
  • Comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on execution.
  • High personal ownership.
Nice to Have
  • Direct credit-union or regional-bank experience.
  • Digital-banking ecosystem exposure.
  • Experience with account-based marketing.
  • Financial-services conference and event strategy.
  • Agency management.
  • Experience building a Growth or Demand Generation function from zero to one.
  • Experience hiring or managing BDR or marketing resources.
  • Early-stage startup experience.
Why This Role Matters

ScribeUp has already built meaningful market traction. The next challenge is creating a repeatable way to get in front of more of the institutions that should be customers.

You will not be stepping into someone else's mature growth strategy. You will be responsible for building it.
