Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Project Engineer for a direct-hire, full-time role in Naples, FL on an active FDOT roadway project. This hands-on position offers mentorship, growth toward Senior PE, and a strong project backlog within a leading heavy civil contractor.

You will manage RFIs and submittals, assist the Superintendent in field tasks, track costs, review plans, and support scheduling. Florida roadway experience and a Civil Engineering background are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering in heavy-civil / heavy-highway construction.
• Heavy-civil / FDOT roadway background (or comparable DOT roadway experience).
• Working knowledge of RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field — or equivalent field experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs and submittals — keep information moving between designers, the owner, and subcontractors.
• Support the Superintendent in the field on material tracking, subcontractor scheduling, and daily sequencing.
• Help track quantities, pay estimates, and project costs.
• Review plans and specs to catch conflicts and constructability issues early.
• Keep documentation, daily reports, and records aligned to FDOT standards.
• Support scheduling, look-ahead planning, and change-order documentation.
